Nikon is pleased to announce the release of the AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VRII, a brand new 5x zoom lens for FX
format D-SLR photographers. The 24-120mm focal length continues to be a unique
proposition in the NIKKOR lens range and the new version features a fixed f/4
aperture throughout the zoom range. It incorporates Nano Crystal coat and
Nikon’s second generation VRII system.

“The AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VRII lens offers excellent value and performance in a compact
package for adventurous photographers everywhere. It is the second f/4 aperture
VR zoom lens introduced this year that broadens the options for Nikon photographers.”

Fixed Flexibility
The AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VRII covers a NIKKOR exclusive zoom range of
24mm to 120mm, ideal for events and travel photography. The fixed f/4 aperture
ensures consistent exposure settings across the zoom range; whatever the
subject, from expansive landscapes to isolating portraits, the AF-S NIKKOR
24-120mm f/4G ED VRII does it with ease.

Hold Still
The AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VRII is equipped with Nikon’s second generation
Vibration Reduction system (VR II) that offers compensation for camera movement
the equivalent to a shutter speed of approximately four stops faster and
couples well with the f/4 fixed aperture under low light conditions. The system
incorporates two modes: Normal for general handheld shooting and Active to
compensate for the mechanical vibration frequencies caused by planes and moving
vehicles.

Brilliant quality across the zoom range
The complex optical design uses Nano Crystal coat, two ED glass elements and no
less than three aspherical lens elements to maintain bright, high contrast
images under a wide variety of light conditions. Ghosting, flare and
aberrations are minimised whilst the nine bladed diaphragm generates subtle
bokeh effect in out of focus areas.

Smooth performer
The Silent Wave Motor (SWM) was specifically developed for the unique
characteristics of this lens. It offers very discreet autofocus performance
with instant Manual override possible in M/A mode. The zoom gearing and switch
placement has been carefully designed for intuitive (blind) operation when
looking through the viewfinder. The lens balances well with D-SLRs like the
D700 and the barrel features a subtle indentation to assist grip when in use.

Built to move
The large zoom range is achieved in a very compact and tough construction,
ideal for the adventure and travel photographer. Through extensive use of
magnesium and Super Engineering Plastic components the lens is built to handle
the knocks of everyday use, and rubber sealing around switches and lens mount
mean moist or dusty conditions are not a problem.

The AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VRII takes the ‘standard zoom’ concept to
another level to meet the demands of today’s high resolution FX format D-SLRs
while maintaining excellent price/performance ratio.

The lens is supplied with a dedicated hood HB-53 and a soft pouch.

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G

This lens has a fast maximum aperture of f/1.4 respectively for a bright viewfinder experience, beautiful background blur with shallow depth of field.

It also incorporates Nikon’s ultra-compact Silent Wave Motor (SWM) ring-type for silent, fast and accurate focusing and enables autofocus in cameras without a built-in motor such as the Nikon D40 and Nikon D60.

“This new fast prime lens redefines the standard lens concept,” said Robert Cristina, Manager Professional Products and NPS at Nikon Europe. He added: “The fast apertures, silent AF and compact dimensions deliver brilliant image quality with new creative options for Nikon digital photographers.”

The AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G lens is a fast, fixed focal-length lens with normal picture angle when used with Nikon’s FX-format D-SLR cameras. Its newly developed optical system delivers high performance, as it efficiently corrects sagittal coma flare and chromatic aberration.

The SWM ring type offers smooth and quiet AF operation. Although all lens groups shift during focusing, the front element and filter mount does not rotate and the barrel length does not change, ideal for close-up photography or when using SB-R200 Wireless Remote Speedlight units.

The AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G has two focus modes, M/A (manual-priority autofocus) and M (manual focus). With its rounded nine-blade diaphragm, out-of-focus elements appear more natural. When mounted on a DX-format SLR, the picture angle is equivalent to a focal length of about 75mm in 35mm format.

Finally! The Nikon D700 FX DSLR

Finally!  The Nikon D700 FX DSLR

I’ve been dreaming and waiting for a long time of a getting a Nikon Full Frame Pro-Grade DSLR, and today i finally got it 🙂 After Saving for almost a year, i finaly purchased a Nikon D700 FX (Nikon Full frame DSLR), together with the Nikon AF 24-85 f2.8-4D Lens. can’t wait to try it out, a perfect low budget FX combo i guess 🙂

The D700 feels much heavier than other mid range DSLR, but there’s definitely bigger in size and weight.
The Ergonomics are superb with the rubber grip, i also bought the MB-D10 Battery Grip and you know what ? It feels really perfect in my hand, Macho man Grip just like Ken Rockwell mentions 🙂

Nikon D700 – FX Format DSLR Quick Specs

Source from From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nikon D700 is a professional grade full-frame digital single-lens reflex camera introduced by the Nikon Corporation in July 2008 and manufactured in Japan. It uses the same 12.1 megapixel “FX” CMOS image sensor as the Nikon D3, and is Nikon’s second full-frame digital SLR camera. Initial MSRP was $2999.95, but actual prices are much lower.
The D700’s full-frame sensor allows the use of non-DX F-mount lenses to their fullest advantage, with no crop factor. When a DX lens is mounted on the D700, only a DX-sized portion of the camera’s sensor is used. Nikon D700 bears a physical similarity to the Nikon D300, which uses the same MB-D10 battery pack and EN-EL3e battery. As of 2009, the Nikon D3X, the D3/D3s and D700 are the only Nikon DSLR models that are manufactured in Japan.
The D700 has a built in autofocus motor for all Nikon autofocus-lenses, includes CPU and metering for older Nikon F-mount AI/AI-S lenses, [2] and supports PC-E lenses.[3]
